Shanghai in Art
ShContemporary 10 will take place from September 9th to September 12th 2010 in Shanghai Exhibition Center.
ShContemporary takes place every September in the spectacular Shanghai Exhibition Center in Shanghai, China. The first edition in 2007 immediately established itself as Asia's most dynamic contemporary art fair.
This year ShContemporary coincides with the largest World Expo the world has ever seen, during which an unprecedented amount of arts projects will be happening all over Shanghai.
ShContemporary 2010 is organised around two key areas:
• Best of Galleries, ShContemporary’s unique selection of invited Asian and International galleries
• DISCOVERIES - This year's theme: Re-Value. A curated, thematic exhibition in a commercial art fair where artistic value confronts commercial value and a Conference called Re-Value: The Construction and Consumption of Value in Contemporary Art.
In addition, a conference organized with curator Hou Hanru on the theme "Collecting Asian Contemporary Art: What, When and How?" shall take place on September 9th.
There is also the Giorgio Morandi Exhibition and Workshop. It consists of an exhibition of selected pieces of Morandi’s work, and a full day workshop dedicated to exploring the influence that Morandi’s work has had on modern and contemporary Chinese art.
The special exhibition concept, the rich programme of dinners and parties, a spectacular World Expo, and a myriad of contemporary shows opening all over Shanghai, shall all combine to ensure you have an unforgettable experience.
